New music Friday: Blink-182, Dashboard Confessional, Goo Goo Dolls
New music from Blink-182, Dashboard Confessional, and the Goo Goo Dolls
Some new tunes to kick start your Friday into the weekend. Here are a few of the bigger names that released new (or in some cases, reworked) music.
Blink 182 - "Generational Divide"
This 48-second track is apparently a "clap back" at fans who did not like their new direction. Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker have spoken about their new album and how it'll most likely be a page out of their 2003 self-titled album- more aggressive, less like California. Check out the new song "Generational Divide" below:
Dashboard Confessional - Now Is Then Is Now
In a surprise move, Chris Carrabba tweeted out a link to three "new" Dashboard Confessional albums. They're not new new, they're revisits of three DC albums- A Mark, a Mission, a Brand, a Scar (2003), Dusk and Summer (2006), Alter the Ending (2009)- reworking the songs in acoustic form. Not bad actually. Reminds us of the original DC sound before he plugged in. The Dusk and Summer revisit features an acoustic version of the hit "Vindicated", which featured on the Spider-Man 2 soundtrack.
You can find the links to each album via the Dashboard Confessional tweet below.
Goo Goo Dolls - "Miracle Pill"
The Goo Goo Dolls have released the first single from their upcoming new album Miracle Pill. The title track can be heard below. The song is more akin to the Goo sound of the past decade, eschewing their earlier, more alternative sound for easy beats and melodies. Miracle Pill is the follow-up to 2016's Boxes. We enjoyed 2013's Magnetic.
