Jay and Silent Bob return for Reboot
"Ladies, Ladies, Ladies, Jay and Silent Bob are in the hizzouse!"
Generation X's most famed slackers are back. Jay and Silent Bob make their big-screen return in the upcoming Kevin Smith movie Jay and Silent Bob Reboot. The film follows the exploits of Jay (Jason Mewes) and Silent Bob (Smith) as they try to stop a remake of the Chronic and Bluntman movie- which was based on a comic book.... based on their likeness.
The film is the eighth film in Kevin Smith's View Askewniverse and follows up 2006's Clerks II. The last time Jay and Silent Bob headlined a movie was in 2001's Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, which was about Jay and Silent Bob travelling to Hollywood to stop studios from making a Bluntman and Chronic movie... wait, what? Yes, as Kevin Smith has stated, Jay and Silent Bob Reboot is; "literally the same movie all over again".
That's OK. We love Jay and Silent Bob, and it'll be better than the Lion King reboot.
Returning to reprise their roles from previous Kevin Smith films are Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, Joey Lauren Adams, Brian O'Halloran and Jason Lee.
The film opens in cinemas October 15th and both Jason Mewes and Kevin Smith are taking the film on the road. They will be hosting screenings and Q+A sessions across the US starting in October. You can check out details and buy tickets from the Reboot Roadshow website.
