Clowns signs to Fat, new album out April
Melbourne hardcore outfit Clowns have inked a worldwide (outside of Australia) deal with Fat Wreck to release their upcoming 4th studio album, Nature/Nurture. The label have released the song "Prick" from the album as a teaser.
The new album is due April 12th and while Fat will handle the rest of the world, Australian booking agency Damaged (which is a venture featuring members of the band) will be handling the local release. It is the first release for the fledgling agency-turned-label.
Leader singer Stevie Williams is steadfast about maintaining the band's strong DIY approach to what they do;
"Clowns have been a fiercely DIY band from day dot. We wanna set an example to other Aussie punk musos that if you want to play in a band, you can still just siphon the petrol from your neighbours car, drive 10 hours up the road to a gig with no accommodation, somehow make it work along the way and even though it might take you a few years, eventually you’ll get to where you want to be. We drive our own tour van, we book our own shows, we do our own illegal poster runs and now we release our own records."
Remind me not to park my car at a Clowns gig.
Check out the new song "Prick" and get ready come April 12th.
