Film tidbits: Magneto gets director, Transformers pics, Crank sequel
Posted by Billy under Film News
Here is a short news round-up from the world of film:
- The upcoming X-Men spin-off movie, Magneto, has gotten itself a director: David S. Goyer (who directed the supremely mediocre The Invisible), he will not only undertake directing duties, but will handle a script re-write as well. I am not expecting high quality cinema from this venture.
- A few new(ish) Transformers related images have surfaced around the web. Here are two of them: Optimus Prime and Barricade. All I can say is “yes!”
- Last year’s overdosed videogame-turn-movie flick Crank is getting a sequel. If you’ve seen the first, you’re probably scratching your heads over the announcement. I thought the first film, while at times striking and enjoyable, reeked of MTV-generation A.D.D. direction and silliness. The film was, in a word, ridiculous.
