There isn’t a lot of depth to Boston-based pop/rock band Boys Like Girls, but while their music is far glossier than it is deep, it is by no means your average throwaway pop.

The band’s 2006 debut album has been sitting in my iPod for some time now and only recently have I begun enjoying their carefree tunes- most likely because of the onset of summer here in Australia. The album’s first single, “The Great Escape,” is easily the windows-down anthem of the release, but the re-released ‘2nd’ single, “Here/Heroine,” takes a less direct route to pop glory. The band recently redid the video for the song as it is finding its way up the pop charts, and you can view the new version of it after the jump.
